Ticwatch E2 Features
- Display and Design
- Battery Life Is Impressive
- Waterproof Rating/Protection
- Memory and Media Features
- Activity tracking
- Instant Notifications and Applications
The new Ticwatch E2 spots a fantastic design, it’s still the same design as Ticwatch E only that it’s now more stylish and has a more decent design that makes it worthwhile wear. It doesn’t look dull and cheap like Ticwatch E. The screen size steel maintains 1.39 inches that let you see more at a glance and an AMOLED display with great viewing angle, but visibility under sunlight is not so great.
Ticwatch E2 is a touchscreen and has a single button by the side that helps make navigating the interface a lot easier. Ticwatch E2 lacks an ambient light sensor which means the display doesn’t automatically adjust screen brightness.
However, you can switch between about 5 different screen modes depending on where you are, the sunny mode makes the interface easily readable under sunlight.
The design of the E2 is a lot better and more stylish, although it’s now slightly bigger probably due to the increased battery life, it’s slimmer and sleeker. The casing is made of polycarbonate and the straps made of silicone. You can change the straps with 22mm in width straps. Same goes for the watch face, you can choose from preloaded ones or simply download one from the play store.
The Ticwatch E2 comes in two variants, black and glacier color. The black version is available and hopefully any time soon the glacier color will also be available. The design of Ticwatch E2 suggests a smartwatch you can wear for any occasion.
One of the new improvements that come with Ticwatch E2 is the longer battery life that lets you easily go over 2 days on a single charge. It uses a lithium-ion battery with a 415mAh capacity.
On regular usage battery life is about 2 days or more. The E2 should serve perfectly well for even extreme workout sessions and make a perfect companion for short holidays.
Ticwatch E2 is rated 5ATM, this makes it water-resistant up to 50 meters. So it’s safe to wear this under the rain, to the shower or perhaps to the pool. You can track your swimming activities with this watch and the good thing it’s now more equipped to recognize swim style, track lap movements, and strokes plus other useful metrics.
Ticwatch E2 comes with 4GB onboard storage space and 512 ROM to keep things smooth. Out of the 4GB, about 2GB is available to store your favorite files directly on the watch. You can as well download your favorite apps from the app store.
The E2 has both a loudspeaker, but comes with a microphone. So you should be able to take calls directly from the watch or access voice command via Google assistant.
Ticwatch E2 is a lot smarter and it’s fully ready to track your active life. I think this is an attempt from Mobvoi to measure up with the likes of Fitbit, Apple, and Samsung in the fitness tracking business.
The E2 comes with an accelerometer, inbuilt GPS that supports multi navigational system and a heart rate sensor that automatically tracks your heart rate 24 hours of the day. Although leaving the heart sensor on all day will drain the battery faster.
TicWatch E2 is powered by TicMotion, Mobvoi’s suite of proprietary AI algorithms to proactively detect your motion, track your swim activities, and provide your fitness records, all click-free. TicMotion is an invisible technology that proactively tracks your activities without you needing to activate anything. It goes beyond just counting steps or calculating calories. Powered by Mobvoi’s innovative AI algorithms, it maximizes your smart wearable’s capabilities and seamlessly integrates with your life
Ticwatch E2 automatically detects your workout mode, it comes with 6 preloaded workout modes for you to choose from. The TicHealth suit is able to track 6 different sport modes; outdoor run, outdoor walk, indoor run, cycling, freestyle, and pool swim.
TicMotion function will require the installation of the latest version of TicExercise watch app. More types of sports activities will be supported via ongoing software upgrades
Some of the activities you can track with Ticwatch E2
Ticwatch E2 is a great companion for your phone, it connects seamlessly with compatible devices to ensure you stay connected to what matters. When connected to a compatible phone it notifies you of incoming calls, SMS, emails and other notifications from both native and third-party apps.
Ticwatch E2 also has WiFi which keeps you connected even when your phone is not near. This is actually great especially while working out when it becomes quite uncomfortable to carry your phone in your pocket.
The E2 is compatible with both Android 4.4 or later and iOS 9.3 or later and with Wear OS 2.2 you get access to your favorite apps and even better is the redesigned Google Fit that helps you achieve more fitness goals and a notification stream that lets you see more at a glance.
Unfortunately, Ticwatch E2 lacks NFC chip inside which means no payment system is supported.
