The Gear S3 Frontier has a great design, one of the best in the market, its comes with a screen size of 1.3 inches, a super AMOLED display featuring a 16M full color capable of displaying animation. The body is built for durability with stainless steel material, the strap, unlike the Gear S3 classic, is made of silicon and interchangeable with any 22mm strap. The weight at 63 grams is slightly heavier than Gear s3 classic, it features an always-on display which means you can read the time anytime you look on the wrist without having to press any button.
With an internal storage of 4GB, you can store over 250 of your Favorite tracks, then enjoy on the go during workout routine or on official duty with an earbud or via the inbuilt loudspeaker.
The Gear S3 Frontier has a battery capacity upgrade from the 250 of the S2 series to 380mAh with a li-ion battery. On standby, it lasts up to 3 days or more, while with heavy usage you should expect a battery that stays up for about 36 hours. Quiet poor, but considering the verse features built into this device, its good to go.
As expected, the Gear S3 Frontier is capable of tracking various fitness activities. it comes with the Samsung S-health app which helps analyze fitness tracking results of your heart rate, steps, distance covered, calories burnt and other fitness metrics you would expect from a complete fitness tracker.
The Gear S3 Frontier has nice features when it comes to keeping you updated with notifications from your smartphone. It notifies you when there is an incoming call, message, weather forecast, event reminder and other important info. Besides this, you also get notified when there is a notification from third-party apps such as Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp. it’s safe to say that this device is a great companion.
There is an LTE version of the Gear S3 Frontier though this is not available in every country of the world. The LTE version supports a sim card and automatically qualifies as a standalone smartwatch, having the capability to make calls, send and receive SMS independent of your phone.
