Fitbit Charge 4 Features
- Decent Design
- Water Resistance Rating
- 5 Days Long Battery Life
- A Comprehensive Fitness Tracker
We’d expected a more sophisticated design especially after the acquisition by Google last year, but that isn’t the case. The Charge 4 looks exactly as the Charge 3 except for a slight discrepancy in dimension. Monochrome OLED still powers the display which isn’t so lively and interactive, but easy to read outdoor. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covers the screen just like Charge 3, while the case is made of aluminum/resin which makes it very lightweight at 27 grams. Navigation is via touchscreen only.
The Charge 4 is available in black, white and burgundy colors, and there’s a special edition with woven straps made of polyester material.
The Charge 4 is rated 5ATM which makes it waterproof up to 50 meters. So it safe to wear to the pool or ocean.
Fitbit claims the Charge 4 is tested to last up to 7 days with continuous heart rate tracking and about 5 hours with continuous GPS tracking. This is impressive which makes the Charge 4 a great choice for tracking extreme workout activities.
Just like the Charge 3, the Charge 4 is well equipped with an altimeter, SpO2 sensor, accelerometer, heart rate sensor with the addition of inbuilt GPS which enables it to track the following activities.
– Track your heart rate continuously including resting heart rate and heart rate zones which gives you a clear picture of your intensity during training.
– Track calories all day.
– Track your complete sleep cycle and stages which includes REM, deep and light, and time spent in each.
– Track floors climbed.
– Automatic exercise recognition with over 20+ preloaded workout modes to choose from.
– For women, log menstrual cycle via the app and monitor changes.
– Track your blood oxygen saturation via the SpO2 sensor.
– Sedentary reminders that monitors how active you’ve been and reminds you to move.
– Track your swimming activities which includes SWOLF.
– (new) Active Zone Minutes allows you to set a target heart rate in which the device will alert you when your heart rate reaches a preset goal.
– Track your VO2 Max and overall fitness level.
– Guided breathing sessions can help you resolve stress.
Compatible with both Android and iOS devices, the Charge 4 is able to keep you updated with all that matters to you such as SMS, email and other notifications from both native and third-party apps on your phone. NFC that was restricted to only the Charge 3 special edition is now available to all models of the Charge 4. This allows you to make payment directly from Charge 4 with Fitbit Pay. Moreover, music control has also been added to the Charge 4.
