Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon 2nd Gen Features
- Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon 2nd Gen: Media Storage
- Water Resistance/Protection
- Activity/Fitness tracking
- Notifications and Application
The Louis Vuitton Tambour horizon has a stylish and outstanding design. It carried the same design as its predecessor – Having just the perfect touches of luxury. With a moderately sized 42mm case it becomes a great choice for a lot of people and a 12.6 mm thickness means it’s not bulky.
It has a 1.2 inches display powered by AMOLED with a high resolution that gives it a great picture quality. It has touchscreen support and also features a rotating crown button that makes navigating the interface and interacting with Wear OS very easy.
On the screen, is sapphire glass, one of the toughest materials used in the industry and of great durability which is scratch resistance. The bezel features a ceramic material that adds that premium and high texture finish featuring a 24-hour ring around the bezel with day/night indicator that works even when the watch isn’t actively in use.
Another nice feature of the Tambour Horizon 2nd Gen is that it’s highly customizable. Exclusively, it features Louis Vuitton customizable watch faces with the codes of the Maison (canvas, stripes, Monogram or Damier patterns), “My Travel” travel watch face (flight, train, hotel & travel information, “LV City Guide” dedicated travel application, “My 24 hours” watch face (24 time zones, step counter, agenda, pollution indicator, weather, and temperature), collaborations watch faces with Louis Vuitton Studios and Iconic Louis Vuitton watch dials.
The Tambour Horizon 2nd Gen is available in Monogram eclipse, brown, black and white and there are also tons of straps to choose from, allowing you to define your style.
Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon 2nd Gen: Battery Life
Being powered by the infamous Snapdragon 3100 chip, one would have expected a very much longer battery life, but that’s not the case. However, the Tambour Horizon 2nd Gen has quite impressive battery life. The manufacturer stated that the battery life should last up to a day on regular usage, not so impressive.
Although, there is a watch-only mode feature that sees the battery life last up to 5 days. That’s just in line with the Snapdragon 3100 battery saver feature as seen on the Fossil Gen 4 Sport, another 3100 smartwatch.
The Tambour Horizon 2nd Gen comes with a somewhat massive 8GB ROM which is enough to take up your favorite files and app installations. It also features 1GB RAM for the Snapdragon 3100 to play with which clearly should see it respond faster to request eliminating frustrating minute laggings. In addition, the Tambour Horizon has a microphone that lets you take calls directly from the watch and also ready to take your commands via the much improved Google Assistant.
Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon 2nd Gen is rated 3ATM which means it water-resistant up to 30 meters. So it’s safe to wear it under the rain, perhaps to the shower and of course in the pool, but I don’t recommend this for swimming.
Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon 2nd Gen is not the best choice for fitness tracking, although it comes with a gyroscope and accelerometer that is able to track your steps, distance and cycling activities, but lacks inbuilt GPS and a heart rate sensor (HRM)
The Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon 2nd Gen will also serve as a great companion for your phone. With Bluetooth available it’s able to keep you connected with notifications and other updates from your phone and with Wi-Fi available, it keeps you connected even not paired with a phone.
It’s compatible with both Android 4.4+ and iOS 9.3+, once connected to a compatible device, the Tambour Horizon keeps you connected with text messages, emails, calls, schedules and other notifications from both native and third-party apps on your phone.
Inside the Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon 2nd Gen, is an NFC chip that supports Google pay allowing you make payments on the go from the watch.
