- Notifications & Application
The LG Watch W7 stands out with its spectacular and captivating design that features a full screen edge-to-edge display. It is the first Wear OS hybrid smartwatch with the mechanical hand movement. The Watch W7 has a classic design that looks both adorable and prestigious. No doubt, the design of the LG Watch W7 is its most outstanding feature.
It has two mechanical hands (hour and minutes) plus a micro gearbox that lets you read the time even when the battery is flat. It has a 1.2 inches screen size with a rich LCD display that is visible under sunlight.
On the screen is a bright LCD display that’s touchscreen, in addition, it has three buttons of which one is a rotating digital crown that lets you navigate the interface of the watch effortlessly.
The LG Watch W7 is built with the best of durable materials as you would find in most high-end smartwatches like Samsung Galaxy and Apple series 4. The casing of the Watch W7 is made of 316L top grade stainless steel material while the interchangeable straps are made of silicone material. The Watch W7 is sealed tightly against dust and environmental exposure that could damage the device.
The LG Watch W7 has an impressively long battery life that lets you go just over a day on a single charge. It comes with a lithium polymer battery with a capacity 240mAh.
On standby, it’s expected to last about 5-7 days while on mixed usage you get over a day battery life. Moreover, on just watch mode, battery life lasts about 80-100 days. Really awesome and it’s one of the best you can get from modern-day battery life of smartwatches.
The LG Watch W7 is certified IP68 which means it passed the 1.5 meters underwater for 30 minutes test and as such it is water-resistant. You can wear the Watch W7 to the shower, under the rain without having to worry about the smartwatch getting damaged.
However, you shouldn’t wear this to the pool or the ocean. It is not the perfect device for tracking swimming activities. It is advised that you use a clean soft clothing material to dry up the watch when it comes in contact with water.
The LG Watch W7 doesn’t come with HRM for heart rate monitoring. So it might not be the perfect smartwatch for fitness-minded folks. We couldn’t ascertain why HRM was omitted from the Watch W7 even though both the Urbane 2nd edition and Watch sport had HRM inbuilt. However, the LG Watch W7 has a GPS built-in which lets you track outdoor activities such as routes you take, locations and distance.
Besides that, the LG Watch W7 has an accelerometer, altimeter, compass and a barometer built-in which lets you track your body movements such as hiking activities, steps count, the distance you covered, calories consumed and burnt. Important to note, is the Google Fit app equipped with health coaching features which lets you manage fitness stats from your phone.
The LG Watch W7 is a perfect companion for your phone which ensures that you never miss those important emails, calls and other notifications. The Watch W7, when paired with a compatible device, will alert you when there is a new notification from both native and third-party apps on your phone.
It comes preloaded with captivating watch faces which lets you can customize allowing you to define your style for every occasion.
Unfortunately, the LG Watch W7 does not come with an NFC chip meaning no payment system. The Watch W7 runs on the latest Wear OS 2.1 which lets you access your favorite apps right on the watch. Good to know that there is 4GB internal storage space for onboard files storage. The Watch W7 couldn’t wait for the release of the new Snapdragon 3100 which promises a longer battery life and more accurate fitness tracking, it is however powered by Snapdragon 2100 which is considered outdated and reduces battery efficiency.
