LG Watch Sport Specifications – Just like the name goes the LG Watch sport (W280) is a standalone sporty smartwatch that has quite a whole lot of interesting features built-in. It comes with GPS, HRM and NFC chip which powers Google pay. The Watch Sport was released in February, 2017, runs on Wear OS 2.1 and is powered by Snapdragon 2100.

The LG Watch Sport just like the name goes comes in a sporty and elegant design with a prestigious and beast-like appearance. It is a suitable wear for both men and women but a more befitting wear for men. The LG Watch Sport has a 1.38 screen size that stands out powered by P-OLED, it is visible even under bright sunlight without needing to strain your eyes. The LG Watch sport is touchscreen and also has 3 buttons that aids in the easy navigation of the interface. The watch face can be customized, there are 11 preloaded watch faces to choose from allowing you to customize the look of the watch face.
The LG Watch Sport body is built to last long, the casing is made of a stainless steel material while the 22mm straps which are interchangeable are made of thermoplastic material. There is also a Corning Gorilla glass screen protection that is scratch and dust resistant.
The LG Watch Sport battery life is quite impressive but below our expectations. The battery has a capacity of 430mAh which on standby lasts about 1-2 days on average while mixed usage will see the battery life reduced to 15 -20 hours. Not so great, but it will serve for extreme sports activities. The battery can be charged via a wireless charging cradle that takes about 1-2 hours to fully charge a completely depleted battery.
The LG Watch Sport comes with a 4GB internal storage space that lets you store all your favorite files directly into the watch. About 2.5GB is available after system requirements, you can stream music from
Google Play or download directly using network connectivity. This allows you to listen to your favorite tracks on the go while working out, in the office or just recreating.
The LG Watch Sport is certified IP67 which means it passed the 1 meter underwater for 30 minutes test. So it’s waterproof, you can wear it under the rain, to the shower but not to the pool. This is not the perfect smartwatch for tracking your swimming activities. When the smartwatch comes in contact with water you should dry it up with clean soft clothing material.
The LG Watch sport is a great choice that lets you track your activities effortlessly. It has all the standard sensors for fitness tracking built-in. There is A-GPS built-in for more accurate outdoor tracking of activities such as location, routes, and distance. There is also HRM sensor built in which automatically tracks your heart rate variations allowing you to detect changes early enough.
The Watch Sport also has an accelerometer, gyroscope and barometer built-in which lets you track your movements. The good thing is that these sensors automatically track your body movements when you move your body. You can view and manage fitness stats via Google Fit and LG health app.
The LG Watch Sport is a perfect companion when it comes to notifying you and keeping you updated with notifications on your phone. The smartwatch, when paired with a compatible smartphone, alerts you when there is a new notification from native and third-party apps on your phone. You can set up schedules and reminders via the timer and alarm feature.
The LG Watch Sport runs on Wear OS 2.0 which opens a whole lot of possibilities. You can install your favorite apps directly on the watch. The good thing is the Watch Sport is a standalone smartwatch that lets you make and receive calls directly from the watch without needing your phone. With the inbuilt microphone, you can access the voice command features which lets you utilize Google assistant. The Watch Sport is compatible with android 4.3 or later and iOS 9.0 or later.
With the LG Watch Sport you can also send and receive messages directly from the watch, you can enable screen lock for privacy. There is NFC chip built into the LG Watch Sport that powers Google Pay contactless payment system. The Watch Sport is powered by Snapdragon 2100 chip.
