Kate Spade Scallop 2 Full Specifications – The Kate Spade Scallop 2 announced at the CES 2019 succeeds the Scallop which had a highly notable stylish feminine design, but lacked important hardware features. The new Scallop 2 fills that void with same fascinating design plus additional features like inbuilt GPS, HRM, NFC and is swim-proof. The Scallop 2 like its predecessor runs on Wear OS, but unfortunately is powered by Snapdragon 2100 despite with 3100 being available.

The Kate Spade scallop 2 has an almost similar design to the Scallop released over a year ago, but now has an additional push-in button for easier accessibility, unlike its predecessor. Besides that, it’s the same design. Scallop 2 looks fascinating and has the same feminine appearance, a beautifully carved scallop design on the bezel and a finely designed spade on the rotating digital crown button.
The 42mm case is made of stainless steel which is durable while the 16mm straps which come in black leather, rose-gold leather and rose gold-tone stainless steel is equally built to last. This gives you options to choose from allowing you to define your style. The Scallop 2 just like the Scallop is also very slim, it measures just 9mm in thickness. It’s one of the slimmest Wear OS smartwatches.
Another fantastic thing about Scallop 2 is that its highly customizable, the watch face can be customized and in addition, it also features the “choose my look” feature that allows you to customize the watch face of the Scallop 2 based on your outfit.

The new Scallop 2 no doubt has an impressive battery life, it comes with a 300mAh battery capacity which lasts about 5 days or more on standby while on mixed usage the battery life is about a day or even more. You will have to charge it at least once every day.
Kate Spade Scallop 2 is rated 3ATM which makes it water-resistant up to 30 meters. It’s safe to wear under rainfall, to the shower or wear it while swimming in the pool or ocean. It’s no doubt a fantastic choice for the avid swimmer who like to track their swimming activities as it is able to track duration and calories burnt in this period.
Scallop 2 is a comprehensive fitness tracker, it comes with all the standard sensors onboard which include accelerometer, inbuilt GPS and HRM. With Scallop 2 you can monitor your heart rate, use the inbuilt GPS to track your outdoor activities such as distances, routes you take and locations. It can also track your sleep, distance covered and calories.
In terms of keeping you updated with what matters to you, the Scallop 2 isn’t lacking in that regard either. It has Bluetooth v4.1 and is compatible with Android 4.4+ (excluding GO edition) and iOS 9.3+. When connected to a compatible phone, the Scallop 2 will feed to your watch the latest notification from your phone. Scallop 2 also has Wi-Fi that keeps you connected when you aren’t with your phone.
The Scallop 2 also comes with a microphone that lets you ask Google anything via the Google assistant which is now easier to access with the latest Wear OS update. Scallop 2 also comes with 4GB ROM out of which about 2.4GB is available for your downloads and storing of your files.
The watch face of the Scallop 2 is customizable, there are tones of watch faces to choose from in the Play store. The Scallop also lets you customize your look based on your physical appearance through Kate Spade New York exclusive Choose your look watch app that allows you to match your dial to your outfit. Tap the icons around the spade to enter your answers for day or night, jewelry, handbag, and outfit colors and the watch will choose a dial for you
Finally, the Scallop 2 comes with an NFC chip that supports Google Pay, a contactless payment system that lets you make payments on the go without having to carry your credit/debit cards around.
