Huawei Watch GT Features

- Water Resistance/Protection
- Activity/Fitness tracking
- Notifications & Application
Huawei Watch GT has an aesthetics that reflects top quality and class. It is very slim, only 10.6mm thick, very stylish and really endowed. The body is made of durable materials yet lightweight at 46 grams(without the strap). The case is made of stainless steel combined with thermoplastic material which contributes to its lightweight. The 20mm strap is made of leather material, other strap materials are also available such as silicone and are interchangeable.
The Watch GT size is great, it’s bigger, yet not bulky. It has a 1.39-inch screen size which is powered by AMOLED. The large screen makes way for contents on the screen to be more prominent. The screen which is scratch resistant is protected with a Corning Gorilla glass.
One of the major highlights on the GT watch from Huawei is its remarkable battery life which is due to the new double chip architecture design that provides a longer battery life. With a battery capacity of 420mAh, the GT has been tested to last a week on mixed usage which is very impressive.
One of the setbacks we noticed on the Huawei watch Gt is the low onboard memory storage space available. For a smartwatch with such a spectacular design, it would have made much sense if there was a much appreciable storage space. The RAM is only 16MB whereas the storage space is only 128MB.
Moreover, the GT lacks a microphone and loudspeaker which means no calls on this watch. It also lacks an NFC chip for payment.
The GT is good to go as far as water resistance is concerned. It is rated 5ATM which means it is water-resistant up to 50 meters. So it’s safe to wear to the pool or ocean. Although, it lacks heart rate tracking while swimming – a feature that’s now present on the new GT 2. However, you are advised not to subject the Watch GT to intense pressure such as diving from a great height as this might damage the device.
The Watch GT is fitness-focused based on all the technologies built-in. There is HRM that features Huawei TruSeen 3.0 heart rate monitoring technology which provides a more accurate and real-time heart rate monitoring by using innovative sensors and self-learning technology.
Huawei watch GT also features a multi navigational satellite system which includes GPS/GLONASS/GALILEO, this ensures that you can track outdoor activities more accurately even in difficult terrains where one of the satellite system lags.
There is also a coaching feature that comes preinstalled with the Watch GT which contains from introductory to advance training courses that helps you achieve more from your fitness activities.
Watch GT also comes with other sensors which includes a barometer, accelerometer, altimeter which lets you track different outdoor and indoor activities such as;
The Watch GT is a perfect companion when it comes to notifying you about a notification on your phone. The smartwatch when paired with a compatible smartphone alerts you when there is a notification from native and third-party apps on your phone.
The watch GT watch face are customizable. You can choose from the numerous watch faces that comes preinstalled on the device. The straps, although, a pair of leather is contained in the box when you buy a new Huawei watch GT, they are interchangeable with a 20mm strap. This lets you define your style for any occasion.
Unfortunately, the Huawei watch GT does not come with an NFC chip meaning no payment system neither is there a WiFi.
