Garmin Forerunner 245/245 Music
- Long Battery Life
- Waterproof Rating
- Activity/Fitness Tracking
The Forerunner 245 and 245 Music aren’t the most stylish smartwatches on the market, but they both look decent enough to grace your wrist for even official outings. Although these two come in sporty design they’re actually stylish while also being fitness focus just like most Garmin smartwatches.
While having decent designs, these two are now more durable with the Corning Gorilla glass manning the screen. It could well take some hard knocks and it’s no big deal. Garmin didn’t specify what the casing is made of, but it’s obviously a thermoplastic material, perhaps polycarbonate, and the silicone straps are comfortable to wear.
The display still features Garmin’s transflective colored memory-in-pixel which offers a clear display that’s not so lively, but somewhat interactive and also easy to view under sunlight.
The 45mm case sizes are a lot more moderate compared to the older Forerunner 235 and at 12.2mm thickness size, it isn’t bulky.
The watch faces are also customizable, although not the most stylish as you’d find on a Samsung Galaxy watch. You can choose a watch face of your choice from the Garmin Connect store.
So, basically the difference between the Forerunner 245 and 245 Music is the availability of significant onboard storage on the later that allows you to store and play your favorite tracks on the go. You can as well stream your favorite tracks from streaming services such as Spotify.
According to Garmin, the Forerunner 245 and 245 will last about 7 days on smartwatch mode. If we should go by their words, it’s a longer battery life than their closest competitors such as the Fitbit Versa and Samsung Galaxy Watch Active.
And with the GPS active, it’s up to 24 hours which is also impressive. A great deal for long-distance runners and fitness-minded folks alike that engage in extreme workout activities.
Both the 245 and 245 Music are rated 5ATM which means these two are water-resistant up to 50 meters underwater. So, these two would survive when they are accidentally beaten by rain or perhaps you might want to wear it to the pool or ocean.
Fitness Tracking is still at the forefront of Garmin smartwatches and the new duo; 245 and 245 Music are fantastic choices for keeping a tab on your active life.
Both the Forerunner 245 and 245 music come with a heart rate sensor, accelerometer, including a pulse oximeter and compass support while also housing support for GPS multi-satellite system that certainly makes these two some of the hottest deal for fitness tracking.
The aforementioned sensors enable the 245 and 245 Music to track your steps, calories, sleep with tracking support for quite a number of activities.
Also featured, is the Garmin Coach that provides guidance from expert coaches and free training plans that adapt to your goals. You can as well create custom goals to fit your style.
There is a lot more of what the 245 and 245 music can track. You check it all out here.
The difference between the 245 and 245 Music is that the later has enough onboard storage space to contain your favorite tracks (about 500 or more).
This comes handy for runners when it becomes inconvenient carrying your phone along with you, you can then listen to your favorite tracks via a Bluetooth enabled earbud. However, for this feature, you will have to part ways with an additional $50.
The Forerunner 245 and 245 Music are capable of keeping you connected to all that matters to you.
With Bluetooth and Wi-Fi supported and compatible with both Android and iOS devices, the 245 will alert you when there’s a new notification on your phone. So that email, calls, and other alerts from both third-party and native Apps are just a beep away.
