What’s the Difference?
  1. Design

  2. Each of these three has got a remarkable design; slim, lightweight, durable and compact. Although, the Active 2 and Magic 2 with stainless steel case have got a more durable and sturdy body compared to the aluminum GTS. Moreover, the Active 2 with digital rotating bezel has got a more sophisticated design than the other two.

You can customize the watch face of the Active 2 simple from the color of what you’re wearing, while the Magic 2 allows you to customize the watch face from a picture. On the other hand, the GTS features an editable widget that allows you to customize 7 complications out of 17 options.

In all, we’ve three stylish and classy smartwatches with very decent appearances.

  3. Media

  4. The Magic 2 (46mm) and Active come with microphone and loudspeaker which are not present on the GTS. This enables voice assistant features on the Active 2 and Magic 2, while also allowing you play your media files anywhere.

Moreover, with microphone and loudspeaker onboard, you can make and receive calls directly from the Magic 2 or Active 2.

  5. Storage

  6. Both the Active 2 and Magic 2 come with 4GB storage capacity which allow you to take some of your favorite tracks with you. A great way to stay motivated and finish that goal. This isn’t possible with the Amazfit GTS.

  7. Cellular Connectivity

  8. The stainless steel model of the Active 2 ships with e-SIM which enables cellular connectivity on this watch, and this makes it a standalone smartwatch that allow you make and receive calls independent of your phone.

So, unlike the Magic 2 and GTS, you can go out all alone with the Active 2 LTE and still stay connected to all that matters to you.

  9. Fitness Tracking

  10. Fitness tracking is at the core of each of these three smartwatches. Each is fitness-focused and equipped to track your active life. Each of these three will track your steps, distance, calories, sleep and your heart rate to help you manage your training intensity effortlessly. GPS is also inbuilt in all three which enable any of these three to track your outdoor activities such as routes you take, location, distance and real-time pace.

The Active 2 features 39 sport modes which are more than you’ll find on the Magic 2 with 15 sport modes or the GTS with 12 sport modes. Moreover, Active 2 is able to detect 7 of those, and also features ECG tracking that can help you detect the irregular heart rhythm. Running courses is also featured on the Active 2 which can coach you through as you race.

The Active 2 is also able to help you manage stress through guided breathing, as well as using Bixby voice to start exercise routines and a Low Heart rate alert.

The Magic 2 is also a comprehensive fitness tracker with swim-heart rate tracking added. A feature that allows you to track your heart rate while swimming, it also features Huawei TruRelax – a feature that can help return you to calm after a stressful day. Moreover, it features voice assistance guidance that coach you through as you race while also featuring blood oxygen monitoring,

  11. Battery Life

The Magic 2 and GTS have got longer and more impressive battery life than the Active 2. These two have been tested to last about 14 days which is far longer than the Active 2 with about 2-4 days long battery life.

Which is Better?

Yes off course, each of these three is a remarkable smartwatch. Great design, lots of features, fitness-focused and long battery life. However, the Active 2 with a more distinguishing design and more features is a better smartwatch. It’s also a more comprehensive fitness tracker with a lot more activity tracking features.

On the other hand, Magic 2 is a slightly cheaper smartwatch, yet great quality and has a remarkable design, lots of fitness tracking features with blood oxygen tracking and swim-heart rate tracking and longer battery life.

While the GTS remains a great alternative if you’re low on budget, it’s the cheapest. It’s a great choice for fitness tracking and has a long battery life.

Our Pick

Although the Active 2 has a shorter battery life compared to the Magic 2 or GTS, it’s a more advanced smartwatch with a more sophisticated design while also being the most comprehensive fitness tracker out of these three. It’s no doubt an fascinating smartwatch, and it’s our preferred choice.
