While the Stratos 3 has a 316L stainless steel case and zirconia ceramic bezel, the T-Rex is polymer all through for the case and bezel and certified MIL-STD-810G which makes it a more rugged smartwatch than the Stratos 3.
The T-Rex is slightly thicker than the Stratos 3, but slightly more compact which sees it having a smaller AMOLED display that’s more interactive and richer. Although, the MIP transflective LCD display of the Stratos 3 is very bright and also easier to read outdoors compared to that of the T-Rex.
Unlike the T-Rex, the Stratos 3 comes with 4GB onboard storage capacity with about 2GB available for storing over 350 of your favorite tracks.
Just like other Amazfit smartwatches, each of these two is fitness-focused and well equipped to track your active life comprehensively. Each of these two will track your steps, distance, sleep, heart rate, and calories. There’s inbuilt GPS in each of these two which enables you to track your outdoor activities such as routes, distance, locations, and pace.
However, the Stratos 3 has 19 preloaded sport modes compared to the T-Rex with 14 preloaded sport modes. Moreover, the Stratos 3 features 4 satellite systems (GPS+GLOANASS+BEIDOU+GALILEO) compared to the T-Rex with only 2 satellite systems (GLONASS + GPS) which accounts for more accurate positioning data. The Stratos 3 features 8 FirstBeat algorithms that enable metrics such as VO2 Max., training load, training effect and recovery mode that can make your training more productive.
All of these makes the Stratos 3 a more comprehensive activity tracker than the T-Rex.
The T-Rex has been tested to last over two weeks with normal/mixed usage which is longer than the Stratos 3 with about a week long battery life. However, these two have very impressive long battery life especially when compared to the Active 2 (2-4 days) and Watch 5 (18 hours+)
Which is Better?
Both the Stratos 3 and T-Rex have got nice design, lots of activity tracking features and long battery life. However, the Stratos 3 with more activity tracking features and onboard music storage is more comprehensive and a better smartwatch than the T-Rex. Although, the T-Rex is a more rugged smartwatch with a longer battery life.
