The much anticipated Huawei Watch Ultimate has been announced, and it will be released on the 3rd of April 2023. It comes in a tough liquid metal case and boasts a 10ATM rating with up to 14 days of battery life. As expected, the Huawei Watch Ultimate will be available in the UK and Europe. However, due to the ongoing litigation with the US, it won’t be available in the United States.

The Huawei Watch Ultimate is a premium dive watch with immense capabilities that put it up as a direct competitor to the Apple Watch Ultra. Even more, is that it can dive deeper than the Watch Ultra and also has a far longer battery life. Taking a cue from the likes of Aquaracer from TAG and Submariner from Rolex, the Huawei Watch Ultimate has a finely calibrated bezel made of ceramics while the 48.5mm case spots a zirconium alloy material which is said to be stronger than titanium, and underneath is a ceramic back. Meanwhile, the screen is made of 2.5mm sapphire glass.

The Huawei Watch Ultimate comes in two models, Voyage Blue with a blue front and a titanium strap and Expedition Black with a black front and silicone strap.

Beyond the intimidating design, the Huawei Watch Ultimate is rated 10ATM which indicates it can survive water submersion up to 100 meters. And like the Watch Ultra, it’s certified ISO 22810 and EN 13319.

It’s obviously all shades of durability and ruggedity for a watch that can withstand high pressure up to 100 meters in water.

Display

On the display, the Huawei Watch Ultimate packs a very colorful 1.56 inches AMOLED display with brightness up to 1000nits that ensures it can be clearly read in any ambient light condition. It also has a touch-sensitive screen and 3 physical buttons for effortless interaction. The third button by the left is tagged the Ultimate Mode button – similar to the action button on the Watch Ultra. This button allows for extra navigation especially underwater.

Health Tracking

Under the hood, the Watch Ultimate packs a handful of sensors that ensures it can track all the regular metrics like your steps, calories, sleep, heart rate, stress, and even advanced metrics like ECG, blood oxygen, and skin temperature measurement. In addition, the Watch Ultimate features over 120 sports modes which include professional and basic sports modes. And for golf lovers, it’s loaded with tonnes of golf features.

One interesting thing about the Watch Ultimate is the remarkable GPS system with dual-GPS support. It’s expected to be incredibly accurate in mapping your routes and locations. And it also includes waypoint and other navigational features that can help you stay on track.
